Day 9

Tuesdays are excursion days so today after class we took a bus with everyone to the DANONE factory, which is the Dannon yogurt factory. We were supposed to go on a tour, but it ended up being really lame. We got there and we were in some sort of classroom setting where a lady with broken English tried to talk to us a little bit about the factory. Then she tried to show us a video, which was in Spanish so it was pretty pointless. Lynn, a lady who works for the educational services abroad who organized the trip tried to translate some of the random facts from the video into English, which was a little helpful. After this we all had to put on hospital like clothing over our clothing and hair nets that looked like shower caps to go on the tour of the packaging part of the factory. But when we got over there we only got to go in the hallway part, and not even the factory, so I guess there health code is just extremely crazy, because we didn’t get to go inside. After that we went back to the classroom and got lots of free yogurt! That was the best part of the tour, hands down! 

After this we all went to lunch together at a place that served lots of American food like burgers and fries! I got a Mexican burger which was supposed to have guacamole on it, but didn’t which was disappointing. The food was okay, but I think I could have taught them how to make better burgers than they made us. 

After this a few of us girls wanted to go shopping for a little bit, so we ventured off to find the mall! The mall looked like an old bull fighting arena, which was pretty interesting. I would have never known it was the mall if we wouldn’t have asked someone. So we shopped around for a little bit, and got a few things from Mango! I got a cute yellow top and some new white shorts!

Then we went outside to take the elevator to the top of the building to see the view! It was an amazing view of Barcelona and there was a beautiful fountain in the center of the street. There were also tons of restaurants up on the top to eat at, so we may have to go back and have a nice dinner there one night before we leave!

After that we all went home to hangout for a while and then went to sleep! We were all wiped out from our long day.
